Tencent Internship

I had a Product Designer internship in a big technology company in the summer. My responsibilities are to design the interface in an app about commuting, partnered with research team and 20+ experts to find opportunities and integrate user insights into product strategy and design. My intern started participating in the design support of the "Tencent travel service" WeChat small program project that is on the homepage of the WeChat payment function with 1.1 billion WeChat users in China. At present, the daily active users of this small program have raised from 20000 at the beginning of 2020 to more than 1 million, and the target is 3.5 million by the end of 2020
Accomplishments
During this period, I followed our internal designers at Tencent to systematically complete an Internet design project called “ Tencent Mobility service” including the communication and docking of product requirements, the determination of the functional interaction interface, the completion of the visual interface, the subsequent implementation with R & D colleagues, and the release of the iterative version. The platform is available on both car systems and mobile devices.
Mobile
Iterate the editing interface(such as the homepage, profile page, etc.)
Participated in building a user journey map and identifying the scenario. Extract what works and what didn't from the platform's original version.
Build a Design system, component library, and info structure to allow the team to have consistent design goals, visual elements, and interactions. The design system helped in improving the consistency and performance of the product.

In-car experience
Usability test in AR navigation, record the pain points from the test. Then I sent these pain points to visual designers, developers, and product managers to discuss possible solutions.

As the Design Manager of Tencent CSIG, I have been acquainted with Ms. Liu as her supervisor from May to September 2020. During her three-month internship at Tencent, she participated in practical projects in the Tencent smart travel design lab, which showed her openness and curiosity about things, quick learning ability, critical thinking, and the ability to clearly and boldly clarify her views. During the three months of her internship, Ms. Liu had also shown marvelous interpersonal skills. Ms. Liu was responsible for the weekly meeting sorting out the weekly meeting process, shared documents, and weekly meeting document specifications. She collaborated well with her teammates and eagerly gave a helping hand. Beyond a doubt, she was supportive, trustworthy, and well-liked by her teammates.
My Internship Life
I had a wonderful experience at Tencent and learned much from the professionals. This experience not only brought me lots of knowledge in the field of design and research but also gave me more confidence in communicating with others. As an intern, I had the chance to organize and host design workshops, invited five China's influenced mobility service designers, and attracted 100+ workmates to join in. I felt grateful to meet with this team.
